Enjoy the finest shipwreck diving in the world. Isle Royale National Park is one of the most isolated parks in the nation, its remote location apx. 20 miles off the MN/Canadian border offers unparalleled beauty. The island juts out of Lake Superiors deep-cool-clear water with rough and craggily shoreline. The island and its many reefs have claimed dozens of shipwrecks from the 1800's to the most recent in the 1990's . Wooden and steel shipwrecks are preserved with amazing detail remaining. Depth varies from shallow to well beyond the 130 sport diving limit, park regulations limit charters to 130' depth.
Minimum experience level for this trip is Advanced Diver, with drysuit experience
All trips are live-aboard with a maximum of only 6 divers per vessel, sleeping -meals-diving-air fills included in the charter. We only book experienced licensed charter captains to guarantee your experience. These trips fill up well in advance, we suggest booking one year ahead to guarantee a spot.

This is another absolute must for freshwater shipwreck divers. Known as a shipwreck graveyard, there are at least 25 located wrecks and the search continues for numerous other ships that went missing. Although some wrecks lie in only 40 ffw, many are in deep water 100 to 200 + ffw. The condition varies from broken up to immaculately intact. Due to the depth and cold water of Lake Superior it is recommended that divers be skilled advanced diver or technical diver trained to participate. All divers should be drysuit / wreck / deep / cold water experienced. We offer a trip led by an experienced charter captain who provides day boat excursions. Accommodations are at local motels, double occ. $495 , plus gas, meals, travel.
Advanced Divers: 2 dives per day / 6 divers per boat / 3 days diving ( single tank + pony or stage 70 - 160 ffw )
Technical Rebreather: 2 dives first day, second and third day 1 am dive per day 150 - 270 ffw
Taking reservations for 2007 with two charter options
August 2-4 Technical Rebreather - departs August 1st .... apx. 9 hour drive.
August 3-5 Advanced Recreational Wreck Diving - departs August 2nd .... apx. 9 hour drive.
USCG Mesquite
The shipwreck of the Coast Guard Buoy Tender Mesquite lays off the shore of Michigan's Upper Peninsula near the town of Copper Harbor. It is a fantastic wreck dive, virtually intact minus the parts taken off during the salvage/sinking. Two days of 2 tank boat dives, one day of 1 tank boat dive. Based on weather we will plan 4 dives on the Mesquite and one dive on the Langham. The cost of the boat charter is $275, plus your choice of accommodations at Copper Harbor. Camping or motels are available, please book early.
August 9-12
Presque Isle - Tech Wreck
The shipwrecks off the Coast of Presque Isle, Michigan are some of the finest that I have seen in recent years. I dove on Schooners that sank in the 1800's that still contained cargo, the wrecks were virtually intact, the visibility was in excess of 70 ft. and the water temp was 60 - 70 degrees. Wow!
Sept. 1-4 (Labor Day 2 spots Avail. )
When Jacques Cousteau's team of divers saw the Gunilda, they proclaimed it was one of the finest shipwreck in the world. This marvel of a wreck lies in over 240 feet of fresh cold Lake Superior water keeping it preserved as if it sank only yesterday. Today it is visited by a number of technical divers who have the training and proper equipment to venture to this extreme depth in cold water. Ron has visited the Gunilda since 1995, and is currently doing an archeological study of the impact of sport divers upon the ship. You can join him for his 7th trip to see the wonder beneath McGarvey Shoal. Click Gunilda to see more on this trip. Click here photos.
This trip is an exclusive CCR Trimix dive trip.
